With no new snow we headed out to Utah once again. This time my son Justin was able to come along with me and Timmy. We left Wednesday evening and drove 5 hours to Mesquite where we got a room at the Virgin River Casino for $27. We drove the 4 hours the next morning to Fairview, Utah and picked up our trailer. Robbie, Armand and his son came as well and we met them at the snow park up Utah SR-31 Fairview Canyon. We rode out of the lower snow park at Fariview on Thursday, up Ephraim Canyon on Friday, drove to Heber to the Uinta mountain range on Saturday (and stopped at Cabela’s on the way back) and then rode Upper Fairview Canyon on Sunday. We dropped our trailer back off in Fairview as there is no new snow coming to California for the next 10 days. Fuel for regular was under $2 a gallon in most places, The lowest was at Spanish Fork where we filled up at the Costco for $1.73 per gallon. Even in Mesquite Nevada we only paid $1.84 per gallon on the way home. We’ll bring the sleds home if we get some snow here but that’s not likely anytime soon. The snow stays around in Utah as it’s much colder. Even on Sunday we found fresh powder to ride on after it being clear and sunny for 6 days since it last snowed. Each day we rode in great Bird Blue conditions and put another 300 miles on our sleds. The riding in Utah is amazing. I’ll be posting the videos as I get them edited. We’ll be heading back soon!
I will not be able to attend the club meeting as I teach Wednesday nights this semester.
