Mammoth is 4 hours north of Bakersfield up highway 395. Mammoth offers snowmobiling, skiing, restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. The riding elevations range from 7,600 feet to over 9,000 feet. This is a great family location with easy groomed trails and plenty of play areas.
From Bakersfield, take highway 58 East to highway 14 North to highway 395 North. Take the Mammoth Lakes exit at highway 203.

Parking
Just in the town of Mammoth there is the parking area on the right hand side called Shady Rest. This is at the Mammoth Visitors Center and Ranger Station. Other parking areas include the side of highway 395 at Smokey Bear Flats, Crestview Rest Area, and June Lake Junction. See the trail maps for location of these parking areas.
