Huntington Lake is a 3 hour drive north of Bakersfield, 20 minutes north of Shaver Lake. The area offers plenty of off-trail and groomed trail riding, as well as lodging and dining to make for a great weekend trip. If you don’t have your own snowmobile there are rentals available at Rancheria Enterprises just off the Hutnington Lake trail-head.

Parking

All of the Sno-Park’s in the Huntington Lake area require the purcahse of a Sno-Park pass from. These passes can be purchased for the day, or for the season and are available at retailers in Shaver Lake, as well as Lakeshore aka Huntington Lake.

Parking is plentiful in the Huntington Lake area. The Tamarak sno-park is very large and located on the summit between Shaver Lake and Lakeshore. There are also sno-parks in Lakeshore right next to Huntington Lake, and on near the power plant just up Kaiser Pass road. Both Tamarak and the Huntington Lake sno-parks offer plenty of parking and space to turn around even the largest of rigs. The sno-park near the power plant is much smaller and only suitable for smaller rigs with two-place snowmobile trailers.
